Tab and Backspace Key/Hang. Indent Problem

Hi there,

I went to Tools, Autocorrect and turned just about everything off, like
format as you type, numbeirng lists etc. With 2003, I don't know where to
find the turning off for the Tab and Backspace keys that keep some kind of
automatic indenting still going.

For instance, i'll type a 1, a period and a tab. And then when I drag the
hanging indent triangle over, the whole things moves over.

Any ideas?

In Word, click on Tools | AutoCorrect Options | AutoFormat As You Type |
uncheck the "Set left- and first-indent with tabs and backspaces" box | OK.

But I think the problem is more likely that you are dragging the wrong mark
on the ruler. You should drag the upward-pointing triangle on the ruler to
change the hanging indent. But if you drag the little square below the
upward-pointing triangle, you change both the hanging indent and the left
indent.
