I can't find much about this doing a goggle search. I have XP Pro and
cannot find a sytem32 folder. I made sure the file types were set to
view hidden. I can see it from a dos prompt though. In addition I have
had trouble running dos. Cmd does not work and the only way I can get
to dos is command.com in the run box. Here is the error I get:
c:\windows\system32\command.com
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.

Thanks,

Start | Run | Paste this in the box and click OK...

c:\windows\system32

What happens when you type: cmd in the Start | Run box?

Do you get an error? Does it start to run and then disappear?

You may have a virus. Update your antivirus software and run a complete
system scan.
