Sounds more like the hidden partition on the HP systems, which is there in
lieu of a
Windows XP CD, for repairing and installing. If one opts to save old
operating system
files during a Windows XP upgrade install, a hidden partition is NOT
created. If it is a
hidden partition with your Windows XP repair and install files, and you
don't have a
Windows XP CD, then I definitely would NOT delete anything from that
partition. Compaq
and HP have merged. So, I would assume that it's the same hidden
partition with Windows
XP repair and install files that HP systems have. If your system came
without a Windows
XP CD, that would be your MAJOR clue.

Sounds like that was a restore partition from the other operating
system? I would think you could but you might want to contact Compaq
tech support to be sure.
