I own a Windows XP Home Edition computer at home. I once abruptly turned off
the computer without following the proper log off procedure, and since the
System32 folder (with all the files listed) shows up on the screen every time
when I log on to the computer. I went through with Virus Scan and no files
were found infected. I also completed with Chkdisk for 5 stages and the disk
was found clean. Welcome any suggestions that I can try to eliminate the
Sytem32 folder shows up on the screen every time when log on.

Information by Bruce Chambers:

This can be caused by a blank entry, such as can be left behind by an
incomplete program removal, in the:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and/or
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.
