my system32 files opens when i log on. i have read that this can be fixed in the registry. i ran regedit and looked at the 2 hkeys that could be the problem but i don't see any " problems. i did find some strange files in there. they look like temp files but wasn't sure if i should delete them. if this helps any SQUIRE has made itself my home page. could there be corrupt files in the registry that automatically does things like that? any help would be appreciated.

Download and run both 1) Spybot Search and Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/ and 2) AdAware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/. One seems to find what the
other missed so run both. After these get rid of your spyware you may have
to open your homepage and go to Tools | Internet Options | and on the
General tab, hit Use Current.

Hi Anri,

First, clean the homepage hijackers from your system and see if that doesn't
resolve the problem. See these links for helpful advice on removing garbage:

If it is still happening, then read:

System32 Folder Opens When Logging on to Windows

However, there are a few other possible causes. Could you please export and
post the contents of these keys in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

To do this, start/run regedit, expand the branches to each key (do this one
at a time). Click on the key, then on file/export. Give it any name, then
save to the desktop. Once you have saved both keys, close the registry
editor. Right-click one of the saved files on the desktop, choose edit, it
should open in notepad. Click edit/select all/edit/copy. Open a response to
this post and click in the message text area. Hit ctrl+v to paste the
contents. Repeat for the other saved key, then send the post for
examination.
