System will not shut down

Chris Hinshaw

I had to reinstall windows XP Pro. When I ask it to shut
down my hibernate and standby modes are gone. When I hit
shut down the computer will go thru shut down but will
start right back up. And return to the log on page.

If you could help me with this I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Win XP Won't Completely Shutdown

1. Control Panel, then Power Options.
2. Click on the APM Tab, then check the "Enable Advanced Power Management
support."

Shut down your PC. It should now successfully complete the Shut Down
process.
