Hi,

How far does it boot?
Have you tried the safe mode options?
What sort of recovery plan did your manufacturer provide?

Hi,

As it's new, it will still be under warranty and you should contact HP for
assistance. The error code is likely to indicate faulty hardware or a
non-compliant BIOS.

Hi Rock,
Try the following, which is extracted from the HP user guide on my HP
dv9000:

You can perform a recovery from the partition on the hard drive from either
the Start button or f11.

To restore the system from the partition, follow these steps:

1. Access Recovery Manager in either of the following ways:
â— Select Start > All Programs > Recovery Manager > Recovery Manager.

â— Restart the computer and press f11 while the “Press <F11> for recoveryâ€
message is displayed on the screen. Then select Recovery Manager.

Recovery Manager opens.

2. Click Advanced Options.

3. Click System recovery, and then click Next.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

best of luck,
Rod
