I have received a message saying:

C:/System Volume Information is not accessible. Access
is denied.
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

Your System Volume contains your System Restore Points and
if you are running NTSF that's the message you get when you
try to find out what's there. With FAT32 you could. But
don't know why the message just pops up. Did you just
happen to try to do something with SRP's?

By default, the SVI folder only has permissions set for the System. As an
Administrator, you can reassign permissions for any file/folder on the
system, if you really need to see what's in there.

Check out Help on "permission".

It should be. That folder contains restore points, and only System
Restore has any business going into it.. If you think you had a virus
that may have got into such a point, wait for the system to make a new
one in its clean state, then run
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup
and in More options, click on 'Delete all but the most recent restore
point' to delete the contaminated one, virus included
