System tries to shutdown whenever using ping, tracert...

So the following system Build 2600.xpsp1.020828-1920: Service Pack 1
tries to shutdown the machine whenever I execute either of ping or
tracert from the command prompt.

Has anybody seen this behaviour before?
 
Why not update to SP2,the problem(s) will probably end.Also,in add/remove,
windows components,networking,chk all the boxes,close out.In cmd type:
IPV6 install
