I have a problem with an icon in my system tray will
mistirisly disapearing. I have dissabled the windows auto
icon hideing. The program is still running, I know this by
bringing up the task manager and looking on the prosess
tab. It only seams to happen to icons that come up while
the computer is booting (things in start up and such) and
once one has disapeared it usualy will disapear on every
boot from that time forward. I can get it back for the
current session by ending the task on the prosess tab and
rebooting the program. But the next reboot causes it to go
away again. I was having this problem with the volume
controll icon. Then I reformated and reinstalled windows
and it is here now but now my trillian (AIM, MSN, and Y!
combo messanger) is gone. It stuck around for about a
month then it vanished. Also right now my palm hotsync is
missing but that one only seams to happen sometimes. Does
anybody have any idea how I can fix this? If it matters
I'm running winXP pro.

G'day,

Sounds like you're experiencing the same problem as me.
It occurs when you use auto log during start up, or
manually log on too quickly during a system start.
Disable auto log on and wait for 10 -15 seconds before
manually entering your password when logging on and the
problem will dissappear.

Ciao,

If you right click on the tas bar /properties/custom.Is
your icon listed as allways visable?
