For some strange reason the battery icon that is displayed in the Windows
system tray disapeared. I checked in the Power Option, the Advanced tab, and
the 'Always show icon on the taskbar' is checked. Can I, and how can I get
the battery icon to appear in my system tray once again. Any knowledgable
feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Are you using an AC adapter?
If so, the battery icon doesn't show while connect to AC.

When you use Windows XP's "Hide Inactive Icons" feature, to hide in frequently used icons in the
System Tray, XP will sometimes display them, even though they shouldn't be. And sometimes it
will not display an icon when it should. This program allows you to reset the usage information.

Failing that, try this fix from Kellys Korner: Run the script on line 294 (right hand side)

I am also quite annoyed with that thing. Here's my simplier solution.
While _loading_ the battery go to power options:
IF 'Always show icon on the taskbar'==TRUE
make it 'Always show icon on the taskbar'=FALSE and 'apply'
and then next make it 'Always show icon on the taskbar'=TRUE, and 'apply',
the icon will show then.

Strange is that this method works only while loading the battery. Not while
"draining" it, so it is quite useles, because we usualy want to see how much
power we have left, not how much we need more.

Any fixes from MS?
