System time is off by 1 hour

Erik

Hi,
My time zone is set correctly. When I use the auto clock set to internet
time, it sets the time one hour earlier than it should. The only way to
display the correct time is for me to set the time zone 1 hour earlier (e.g.
I am in EST/-5 but I need to set it to Atlantic/-4).

I had the same problem on a previous laptop running XP.
Current system is Vista X64 SP1

Thank you for your help.

What is the setting for Daylight Saving Time? Set incorrectly will change
the computer's time by one hour.

last time the system changed to daylight time a week earlier than actually
happened so I decided to take it off. I just rechecked it and it works
fine--no more one hour difference! let's hope it changes next time on
time...

Thanks!

The time changed incorrectly last time because you didn't have all of the
Window updates installed.

Microsoft issued the update well before the daylight saving time switch
over.

I'm glad you have managed to fix the time difference.
