Bill

I am having problems restoring a failed hard drive.

I backed up the drive including the system state.
Replaced the drive loaded XP and tried to run the restore
of the backup with the system state and it fails with a
STOP error c0000139 {Entry Point Not Found}

I need some HELP!

Was this a full backup done all at one time or appended
backup done over a period of time ?? This is the same
problem that system restore has in it's cumulative file
when it's corrupted.

This was a full backup on a drive that (according to
Dell's SMART program) was going to fail.
We replaced the drive and when I do the restore from the
backup including the system state if fails.

I ran a full backup.

Does this function work?
It seems that the complete failure of a drive and then
using the system state restore function of the backup
would be a great thing. If it works?

It's on the server drive.
Does this function work or am I waisting my time?
Just do a reinstall of everything and get on with it?

This stop may be a good thing, it's keeping a post sp1
from installing itself and making a mess of a pre sp1
registry.

Willit,

I checked out the site, BUT it fails to tell you how to
get around the administrator password on the repair
process.

Thanks for your help
Bill

Hmmmmmm, there is a clean install, right. Did you set up a
admin acct on it ?? I would just start over, clean
install, update SP1 , then try the restore.
