System Standby

I am not using a screen saver with my LCD monitor. Rather, I just have the
monitor set to turn off after 20 minutes and system standby set for 30
minutes. The monitor turns off fine, but the computer never goes into
standby. I checked the settings and they are OK. Strange is this: if I set
the monitor to turn off after 1 minute, and set standby at 2 minutes for a
test, it works, but set the timers to higher settings and I can leave the
computer on all night and it won't go into standby.

There have been quite a lot of similar observations, and there appears
to be a bug if the two are too near each other and at higher values. If
you keep the monitor power off at a lower value, it will probably work -
I suggest that you try 10 and 20 minutes or 10 and 30
