System Slow down

I upgraded from windows 98 to windows xp professional and
my computers perfomance has slowed down tremendously. I
have addded another 128MB of Memory to make to it 256MB
but still having system slow downs.

What type of CPU does your system have in it. The
operating system's performance heavily depends on the
speed of the processor as well as the amount of RAM
that's installed. To run XP smoothly, a P4 would be
ideal, but is not needed 100% of the time.
