-----Original Message-----
When connecting to the internet, after about 15 min. I
get a box that says "Remote Procedure Call service
terminated unexpectedly" and then the system shuts down
and re-boots. Do I have a problem with my ISP or do I
need to change a setting? This is a new install and setup.
Thank You,
Don
Don:
I saw the same problem come up on a friend's computer.
The message you read probably refers to "NT Authority"
also. If so, you most likely have the "MSBlast" virus.
Right click on your taskbar, go to task manager and check
the list of running applications. You'll probably
find "MSBlast.exe" on that list.
Go to the Symantec web page
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32
blaster.worm.html and downloand their program to delete
the virus. Do not run it yet. Then go to
http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/blast.asp.
Save these downloads to your hard drive. Get off line.
Clean your computer with the Symantec program, then
install the Microdoft patch and reboot. Yout troubles
should be over. And may the bastards that write these
viruses roast in hell.
