System Shutdown

I recently had to reinstall my OS WinXP Home edit. Since then, every 3 to 5
min. The System Shuts down with the following explanation:
This system is shutting down. This shutdown was initiated by NT
AUTHORITY\SYSTEM.Windows must now restart because the Remote Procedure Call
(RPC) service terminated unexpectedly.

Any suggestions as to how I can correct this?
