1) When i boot-up win xp home it takes about 3-5 mins. before win xp will
run a program (windows or any other) ,
Could spyware (or any other crap) slowdown a system for this long? Any
ideas?

2) I would like to delete some of my old system restore files as well?

My system is a compaq presario s6900nx

Amd athlon 64 bit 2Ghz
1 gig ram
160 gig hard (120 gig free)
win xp home (all up to date)
ati 5900 nvidia (all up to date)

Thanks for any help.

1) Yes, google search 'Ad-aware' and 'Spybot'

2) Delete System Restore Files, right-click My Computer, go to Properties,
go to System Restore tab, Check Turn off system restore, apply, then Uncheck
Turn off system restore, and apply
