virus checkers on my system which I was told it needs system restore but
what else uses it. or should I just leave it alone, I know some of you
might say why do you want to turn it off but I have had video problems on my
computer and people have told me its down to restore on windows xp

Hi Dave

Most people would advise that you leave SR enabled. If your system goes belly up it is a way to restore your system back to before it went belly up. Help and Support is there for people to access, search through and thoroughly read about a particular XP utility before posting to these NGs.

after any kind of crash, say hardware related or after a faulty installation
etc. you may have problems and the restore will rescue you. i have had a
couple of experiences that way.
so leave it alone is my advice for whatever it is worth.
can someone tell me if this really has anything to do with video ?
