System Restore

Anti virus encountered viruses in the system restore
information.

I disabled the system restore to get rid of the restore
points and restarted my computer and then re-enabled the
system restore.

Problem: I am now unable to get into system restore to
set a restore point.

Anyone have a solution.

Hi

Do you see any error message when you try to access System Restore? Try
typing or copy/pasting the following into Start>Run:

%SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

Thanks for the reply.

Did what you suggested, no luck. Also when to
windows/system32 and found the file referenced. It is
there but not functioning.

This problem started after I installed SP2. Do you think
this has something to do with the non execution??

Any help is appreciated

Hi

You can try and reinstall System Restore. Open Windows Explorer and go to
the Windows\Inf folder. Find the sr.inf file, right click on it and select
'Install'.
