Since i downloaded the new IE 7 my pc is acting strange...i have tried to do
a system restore to several different restore points but get a message
stating it was unableb to restore to that date???.......Can anyone please
tell me why I am unable to use system restore?....Is there something I need
to do?
Thanks

The proper solution for IE-7 issues is to use the Add/Remove programs
applet from Control Panel (Classic View). If System Restore is unable
to roll back the machine state then it's likely the points are corrupted. It
(SR) has no built-in integrity check. The only way to know if SR can be
done is try it. When points are corrupted all you can do is turn off SR &
reboot then re-enable it. This purges out all the points and starts over.
SR can be disabled/enabled from the System Properties, System Restore
(TAB).

If you uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6), does this
behavior persist?

Hi Susie,

The majority of the time this is caused by a corrupt restore point. Turning
System Restore off then on again will purges all existing restore points, and
creates one new one.

Try running System Restore from Safe Mode.
Restart your computer, and then press F8 during the initial startup to start
your computer in Safe Mode.

Log on to your computer with an administrator account or with an account that
has administrator credentials.
In Safe Mode type or paste the following command in the Start - Run box then
press Enter.

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

There are also other possibilities that can cause this to happen. The following
