System Restore won't work

Can someone help me, i dont know what happened, but i think I have a virus on
my computer and i cannot use the system restore, because it keeps coming up
with a window that tells me to find a file that will let me run it and i dont
know what file opens system restore so now im stuck and i cant access the
control panel or any thing apart from the internet and a few programs that i
know where the file is that runs it. SOMEBODY HELP MEEEE!!!!

ok i managed to find the file im looking for then it says: "system restore
has been turned off. Do you want to turn on System Restore now?" Then when i
click yes it says: "Choose the program you want to open this file:
rundll32.exe" .... What do I choose then, i dont know where to find this file
to help open it.

Bert, you didn't answer my question, my question was when i click yes to turn
on the restore point it says "Choose the program you want to open this file:
rundll32.exe" now can you tell me please what program opens rundll32.exe,
because i cant find it.

Someone pleez help me!!

Do yourself a big favor and follow Bert's advice and then post the
results. He needs more information about the exact nature of the
problem and the command he asked you to run should give him that
information.

Bert is the acknowledged expert with regard to System Restore related
issues.

I did try it and i said it didnt work, it jus started me all over again from
the beginning exactly as i would do as if i clicked on system restore myself.
I need to open a program that makes rundll32.exe run.

Thank you Bert, I have followed the steps and I am waiting for a reply, I
will keep you updated on whatever happens.
