System Restore will not work.

I replaced my HD and now I can not get my system restore to open. I get a
message Run a DLL on an App has encountered a problem and needs to close. I
had problems with the old HD and was about to go out. I am running windows
xp, sp2.

I have solved the problem by going to windows inf file and sr.inf and doing a
reinstall. That solved the problem.
