Obviously you are very new to XP and as of now you are
still unaware that the System Restore feature in XP is one
of the most useless pieces of programming ever to be
placed inside an OS.

No matter how many times you repeat this, it's still nonsense.
System Restore is certainly not a substitute for a backup, nor
does it solve all problems. But it is a very useful feature, one
that has gotten me and many others out of trouble many times.

Obiously you have no clue what your talking about in regards to system
restore, and never have as you continue to spill this line of crap.
Ssytem Restore is not a backup program, nor is NT Backup a system restore
program. Two totally different programs designed for two totally different
things.
Obiously, you are very lacking in knowledge of these programs, which is
obviously why you cannot seem to get a grasp on them.

I use both System Restore, when needed, along with a good disk imaging
program - Drive Image 7.0.

System Restore has worked great for me each and every time I have used it -
WOW imagine that.
System Restore DOES NOT consume cpu time and resources, except when it takes
a snapshot app every 24 hours, when the system is IDLE.
Sytem Restore has NEVER been affected by my defragger - Executive Software
Diskeeper, and NEVER has been affected by my anti-virus program - Norton
AV 2002, which I leave ON, on auto-detect - Inredible huh???

How about stating some references showing what you allege? Show where System
Restore is affected by ANYTHING from disc optimizing to Virus scanning - oh,
and before I forget to ask, what is the ANYTHING in between?
Show references where you save CPU time and resources by disabling system
restore??

Man, some people. Yes, there are instances where folks have trouble
restoring to an earlier point, but let folks help them find out why and how
to prevent, rather than spewing your ridiculous spill Collin. There are many
folks using System Restore with no issues at all. It is a great feature -
when used as it is INTENDED. It is not a data backup program.
And yes, I have had a very bad day!!!
