System Restore - Vista

Guest

Yesterday I had an issue with my computer that resulted in me usind the
"System Restore" feature.

When the system restore process completed. Upon the rebooting process I got
an unexpected error message that said system restore could not restore my
files and no changes were made to my computer.

Any suggestions as to what might be going on would be appreciated.

Are you dual booting XP and Vista? There is an issue with XP killing
Vista's restore points and shadows when booting to it, if you are not using
a third party boot manager that hides the Vista partition. Wondered if it
was true myself and tested it. Yep, any restore points I created in Vista
were gone after booting to XP and back to Vista. So if you are dual booting
and using the windows boot manager, consider obtaining a third party boot
manager, something like TeraByte's BootIt, or similar that says it is
compatible with Vista.

Cheers
