System restore tab gone

I remembered this happening about a year ago, and I found my instructions,
however, I have some things that I'm not all together sure should be there!
Here's what I did:
I ran regedit...went to HKLM..microsoft...windowsNT...system restore. I
wanted to delete disable SR..which I did..and change value in disable config.
which I did. This didn't seem to work.
There are some things in that window that weren't there before. I had a
major crash and the tech guy had to reinstall a different version of windows
XP. I need a simple solution, please help!!

Hi,

If these steps don't restore the System Restore tab, than follow
TaurArian suggestion to reinstall SR.
