System Restore requires Task Scheduler to be active and running as a service
to create system checkpoints 24 hours after the last point but is there a
specific Task Scheduler item for this or is it invisible to the user and
'hardwired'. Thanks.

Hi Mike,

Hardwired. Not user configurable nor is it visible.

Hi Mike

You can't change the 24 hour period the normal way - via Control Panel - it needs a manual edit of the Registry:

Thanks both. Just wondered if I should see it or if I had removed it
in a tweak purge.

Actually as I think of it is there anything else hardwired into Task
Scheduler. I have the service disabled as I didn't see much use for it - I
had just a few items from my OEM for registration and am happy to create
System Restore points myself. Am I missing anything else by having it not
running.
