System Restore Problem

I uninstalled a program and then wanted to go back to the point prior to the
unistall. The last restore point was dated yesterday, which I selected.
When the System Restore finished, it stated that it was sucessful. However,
all of my documents saved on the Desktop (and in MY Documents folder)were
gone, as will as most of the non-Microsoft programs that I had installed on
my PC. The wallpaper even went back to the factory setting. When I launch a
MS Office application, it starts the install process. I attempted to undo
the System Restore and I get a message stating that it was successful, but
nothing changes.

Hi

System Restore does not monitor any data files. So all your data files are
still intact and where they were when you last left them.

Hi,

System Restore would not do this. It sounds more like a system recovery
was performed which would put the system back to original condition when
the system was purchased.

I understand what you're saying, but I can't locate any of my data files that
were on the desktop or in the My Documents folder.

I really ran the System Restore and then immediately ran the Undo System
restoration once I saw the problem. Any suggestions?

Ok then, logged on as administrator go to Start - Search - All files and
folder and do a search for My Documents. Open each one and look for your
files. System Restore would not have touched the My Documents folder.
