System Restore prob.

I am running XP Home on a Dell 4550. There is 25%
freespace on my hard disk. System restore creates restore
points but at the begining of each month, the restore
points are gone from the previous month i.e. on May 1, i
could not go back to April because there was no April on
the restore calendar. What gives?

There are many factors determining how many restore points/how far back the
restore points will go.
- Your settings for the restore (percentage of allowed diskspace.)
- The amount of actual free disk space.
- The size of the restore points themselves (they overwrite as needed.)
- How frequently the restore points are made (since WIndows makes its own
restore points when you update, etc, this can be hard to judge.)
