[Apologies if this is a repeat; I posted this yesterday,
but I don't see it showing up, so I am reposting.]
On a new PC (just a couple months old) running WinXP, I
recently realized that System Restore was not creating
restore points. Checking the system event log, I found
that every few days to every few weeks since I've had the
machine, the same error was logged, though each time
referencing a different file. The trail is shown below.
Note that in between the errors, system restore does
create restore points for a number of days.
This is a critical problem, because each time system
restore stops monitoring, it deletes all existing restore
points. Hence I have no safety net on my system.
My machine is a Toshiba Satellite A15-S127, running WinXP
SP1 Home Edition, Celeron 2Ghz, 256MB ram, 30GB hard
disk. I have plenty of disk space (22GB free). Assistance
would be greatly appreciated.
