System Restore not working

Every so often I will go check System Restore and all the previous Restore
points are gone and there is only one for the current day. Then it will do
regular daily System restore points for a while and then when I check,
they're all gone again except for the one for the current day.

Any idea why this is and how I can make it quit doing this? Thanks a lot in
advance .... Michael Mauzey

Michael--

Two common causes for restore points to be gone or get corrupted are:

1) Turning it off sometimes inadvertantly even for a moment.
2) Dirty Shutdowns can do it--i.e. shutting down without everything closed.

You may find Doug Knox's utility available that allows you to set a single
restore point. You can get it here:

http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_sysrestorepoint.htm

There are 5 defaults that are supposed to set new restore points and a
default that a new restore point is set every 24 hours:

Thanks Chad ... I'm going to turn off SRestore, reboot and then turn it back
on to erase old points... I also
did what Bill Harris said about using his SR utility.

Thanks for your help ... Michael
