System restore not seeing any drive

I have a dell Inspirion 1505 duo core laptop and Just installed Vista
Ultimate....Vista wants to install update but stalls and gives me the error
unablwe to create a restore point.....in system restore when I open it, in
the list of drive, all it says is searching.....what do I need to do to get
Vista to see my C:\ drive?
 
I would recommend contacting Dell support for assistance. We've had numerous
reports of imaging problems that lead to these sort of problems. By
"imaging" I'm referring to the way in which the operating system was
installed by the manufacturer (in this case Dell).
