System Restore not Available-Help PLEASE

Notebook running XP was infected with the Trojan Qhost yesterday. What fun!
I got the fix from Symantec but am supposed to disable system restore first.
Its tab is not under system properties. I went to programs and system
restore and it gives me a message about Remote Access System Restore dll
not being available. I ran the Symantec fix anyway but it says the virus is
not found. I'm sure the computer is infected because I can get on the
internet but get "page not found" everytime I try to use IE. Any help would
be appreciated.

Hi Ishmail,

For the SR service, start/run services.msc and double click the SR service
to start/stop it and set it to load automatically.

As the the other problem, check the HOSTS file under
C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc for references to those sites by name or IP
(you can open the file in notepad for editing). Remove any you find.
