System Restore in XP Home Edition.

Hi There,
I have tried to use system restore,but all I get is a dialogue box which
says"System Restore is unable to protect your computer.Please restart your
computer and run system restore again."
Despite numerous restarts its always the same dialogue box saying the same
thing. Can anyone help please.

R.click my computer,properties,restore,turn off system restore,close
out.Install
xp cd,exit the info page,go to run,type:cmd In cmd type:Sfc /Scannow When
its
thru,type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,type:EXIT Restart computer,remove
xp cd.Back in xp,turn on restore,close out properties,go to tools,open
restore
and create a restore point.....

What you have told the OP is how to delete his restore points and scan the
system for missing files. You have not answered his original query. If all
the previous restore points are flushed, he won't be able to restore to an
earlier time, will he?????
