System Restore fails

System Restore fails with a script error: I think this
has happened because something corrupted the system date
and it became set to the year 2600 (or something big,
anyway). The day and time was still correct, so I didn't
notice this and installed some software (Frontpage 2003?)
which took a system restore point with the defunct date.
The date is now correct, but the script fails at
the "MaxDate" part, so I am guessing that the incorrect
date is stored somewhere: can I change it to something
like today's date to prevent the script error?!?

Do you have Norton or Mcaffee Virus scanners running with
Script Blocking Enabled? Never heard of this particular
problem. But try disabling it if this is the case.

Try shutting off system restore then reboot,once your
computer starts turn system restore back on and create a
new checkpoint.
This will delete all past restore points and any
corruption in the system volune

Note: the system restore in the Windows XP can be disabled/enabled per
volume.

If you think you want to know more about the error, would you please tell
me the detail error?

I will give you the detail information about the error message.

Would you please give me the error message screen capture?

1. Press PrnScn key on the keyboard when the error message appears
2. Open the MS Paint
3. Press Ctrl-V to paste the picture
4. Save the picture in jpg and paste it to here

Thanks for all the suggestions: the disabling system
restore and reenabling it has done the trick in clearing
the script error - the actual error message was Line 611:
Unspecified Error, going into the Debugger this was the
line where it appears as though the "last system restore
date" was loaded up.

Now all I need to do is to find out why my clock keeps
becoming corrupted, but at least I know to keep an eye
