There may be corrupted data in system Restore.
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes ALL Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.

Hi

One or more of the System Restore files could have been corrupted - try
turning SR off/on - but I'm afraid that you will lose any existing
checkpoints:

Right click My Computer, select Properties and then the System Restore tab.
Enable 'Turn off System Restore on all drives' and reboot your PC. After
that 1st reboot go back into SR and disable 'Turn off System Restore on all
drives' and reboot your PC again. After that 2nd reboot you should have one
new SR checkpoint.

Hopefully, some enlightenment for you; System restore points are constantly
being created by the system, and there is only so much room alotted by
default to this storage of restore points. Even though you may see
highlighted dates which you may believe are *Available*, they infact are no
longer available within the spectrum of the alotted space...basically, the
older restore points are constantly being replaced by new ones, and the old
ones are gone forever. Bottom line; You need to pick a restore point closer
to the current date. Hope this explains things somewhat for you.
