System Restore doesn't work

Hi all
I am using Windows XP pro on a Dell Inspiron Laptop. I installed windows
last week and updated it fully with all available updates on Microsoft
website. I also had to install drivers which were not picked by windows
automatically. After doing all this exercise, I figured out that the windows
built-in System Restore is not working any more. When I ask it to restore, as
usual, It first creates a new Restore Point but the windows doesn't restart
to finish the operation. So I keep getting more and more restore points, but
can't use any of them :-( I am using Inspiron E1405 (It is brand new).
I don't know what and where things went wrong. I was using Toshiba before
this one and all was working fine.
Any Comments or suggestions :-P

System Restore isn't perfect, sometimes it gets broken, in such cases
all you can do is turn it off reboot and
re enable it.
