System Restore Core component

I suspect I know the answer already, but I'll throw this out there anyway ...

My target is a headless box that gets serviced using either Remote Desktop
over Ethernet or the Recovery Console over serial.

I would like my XPE image to have the ability to create restore points and
revert to them if needed. Is it possible to have this without pulling in the
entire huge "Help and Support Services" component with all its dependencies ?
(Tutorials, Outlook Express, Windows Narrator, Magnifier, and a bunch of
other stuff that's a waste of disk space on a headless box.)

Thanks
Jack

You could use EWF with disk overlay and set different overlay levels. Level
0 being the original setup.Levels 1-9 could be the working levels.

It is EWF and it will protect the drive. The drive needs to be a fixed
device so CF ID'd as removable will not work.

I hadn't thought about using the EWF that way, but I'll give it a look. I'm
not sure if I have enough free disk space to use it that way though.

I suppose I could also build in the System Restore Core and its UI without
all the other Help and Support junk, ignore all the TD component dependency
warnings, and just see what happens when I try to use it ...

Thanks
