System Restore - again

Have Windows Vista Ultimate and - as well as all other versions of Windows
that I have had over the years, it won't restore. I turned it off and on the
last time this happened, but it still will not restore to any point in time.
Of what use is this program? Have been reading other posts on this, but no
one really knows why it rarely works.

Thank you - that was exactly my problem. Had quite a time turning Norton's
back on - had to restart twice...but it's up and running. I am planning on
getting rid of Norton's as soon as the trial is over that came with my
computer. It's not my favorite software.
