Hi,

I get this message, when I want to hybernate my computer (by heart): System
Ressources too low to perform API.

I am not sure which driver or proces it is that provokes the situation. It
prevcents me from hybernating as I want, and I have to set the pc in standby.
When I restart the computer, the errow may not occur.

My PC is a new HP ComPac nc6400, with windows XP Pro, completely updated and
Office 2007 completely updated. I have a number of UPS ports in use. BTW:
sometimes the PC cannot find the CD/DVD drive. Could it bee too many UPS's
are in use?

Michael,
My laptop does the same thing exactly. I get that message "insufficient
system resources exist to complete the API" after I've hibernated one or two
times. Restart allows me to hibernate again. I have a DELL Inspiron 700m,
operating Windows XP Pro. I don't even know what API is. I don't have any
USB ports in use, so that can't be it. I hope that somebody out there knows
how to solve this, because my laptop runs hot, and putting it in standby
means that it stays hot while it's on.

Michael,

Thanks for that info. I downloaded the update with the hotfix, and I hope
it works. I didn't see where I had the choice of correct language, so maybe
in the validation process, I got the correct download. I know what to do if
it doesn't work!

In reading available info in the thread, there seems to be
some misunderstanding of power control terms.
Hibernate is when the PC is still running in a sleeper state
(very low power). To return to normal the user taps their
power switch for 1 second.
The standby mode is also known as power off ( only the power
supply and power circuits have some current applied). Normal
power up would be used to start up here.
