I was told by my isp that I needed to close out a lot of
programs that seem to be running in the backgroud. How
do I do this. They told me to contact my System provider
and ask for help in Cleaning up my System Resources.

Hello Gina,

Maybe I can't help you with a direct solution, but the following procedure
should turn off some of these programs:

1. Open Start menu and click "Run...".
2. In the dialog box that appears, type "msconfig" (without the quotes) and
press the "OK" button.
3. In the dialog box that appears (MS Configuration Utility), a special tab
labeled "Startup" lists all programs and services that are started together
with Windows. Most of these are not needed and can be safely disabled. To be
on the safe side, you can list them in this group, and we can help you in
deciding on which items to turn off.

.
Ossama, good reply, but she should disable everything
except her anti-virus program, if Norton it will start
with NAV. This will give her a "lean, mean machine".
