About once a week, in Windows XP, it stops unexpectedly,
causing a "physical memory dump" in which I lose all
offline content. I then have to download everything
again. A time consuming process that can take up to 3 hrs
due to sheer amount of data that is received.

You don't give us much to go on,Like what you are doing
when this happens.I would add more ram if this seems to
be a problem when running multiple programs or memory
hungry ones. Also, try increasing your virtual memory
(pagefile, swapfile)settings to twice the amount of your
ram.....Happy Holidays.
