System reboots frequently when using PPPoE connection

I have a broadband connection using PPPoE protocol and cable modem connection
to my service provider. The service provider has also given a dialer software
to connect to the network.
The connection frequently hangs while downloading files, system reboots
and/or the dial-up connections in the network connections just disappear.
Any suggestions on what could be wrong and how I could fix this?

Sounds very much like a virus or possibly spyware. Try downloading
'Stinger' from Mcafee (if your connection does not drop out too soon).
It checks for all the major viruses for free.

If it's not a virus and not spyware (use SpyBot to find out),
you may have to update your network adapter driver to a new
version. It does look like a severe spyware infestation though.

I wouldn't be too happy with the dialer software either. I would
think about uninstalling it and using the standard means of
Windows XP to establish the connection. Read the cable ISP's
documentation to find out how to set that up.
