I've searched for an answer, but haven't located one. My question is, I am
running XP. After I reinstalled XP home edition on my new harddrive and I
install a program or update, it tells me I need to reboot my system. When I
try to reboot, the system just freezes up. I have to turn it off manually or
shut the system down. Is there a solution to this problem?

hi,
m no expert but could it have something to do with how you configured or not
configured your new hard drive. It could be that it is set up as a slavedrive
and need to be set up as a master drive or the other way around. You might be
able to google my advice about master and slave drive
