how do I access system properties?
If you've got the old fashioned desktop arrangement, right click on
"my computer" and then select "properties".
If you've got the default winXP desktop, go to the control panel
(found on the start menu).
Then "Printers & Other Hardware"
Along the left margin, you'll see a heading labelled "See also", and
under that heading, "system"
When people ask about system properties, they usually mean the device
manager, so:
if you click on the hardware tab, about midway on that dialog, you'll
see a button labelled "device manager."
