system problems after installing antispyware

I had a friend install antispyware on her XP PC to try and get rid of some
spyware, but she had the following problems:

initially, it kept throwing her out of msn and the internet then began to
power cycle the PC everytime she booted into it.

we'd like to try to uninstall the software to see if this is the problem,
but as we're only able to get into safe mode, we cannot run the
uninstallshield to get rid of it and cannot boot into the PC normally as it
reboots everytime it gets to the desktop.

Is there a way to remove antispyware otherwise?

You can use msconfig (start, run, then type msconfig) and unselect "load
startup items", then reboot and see if windows will load. Also you can run
restore from safe mode and roll back to an earlier configuration.
