selective start,go to system start, deselect all except
for your anti-virus prog. You will see a world of
difference. If you want to go farther run diskclean. It
has function to compress old files. Remove all the progs
that are not regularly used. Back them on a CD or
remember where from the net you got them. At 256 you are
going to fight this problem constantly with XP as the OS.
