When my computer was turned on, It automatically created a new owner account
with no programs or settings attached. All the documents, files and programs
are on the system under the original owner account folder. The new account did
not prompt for file transfer or program access as it would for a new profile.

My system is working, a little sluggishly at times...., I find this a little
perplexing.

System Restore and Norton GoBack are running, but will not reset to any
date/time prior to this event.

Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Did you get an error message that your account may be corrupted...?

My wife started the system, and when I asked, she said 'no'.when the screen
came up, it was the green microsoft field wallpaper, no dialogue boxes or
warnings, and all the desktop items were gone. the 'Owner' folder is still
available as far as files and programs, but Outlook express had to be
restarted (with the loss of all e-mail and addresses). The Favorites in
Internet Explorere are gone as well. It would appear that the account was
deleted, (I had deleted temporary profiles in the past and had to pass
through a warning/continue dialogue box informing me these files and settings
were unable to be saved) but there was no other owner account to operate
from. The only profile available from the Log On is still my owner profile,
but it opens with the new blank desktop & settings
