System Notification sound being played.

Hi,

With random intervals the Windows System Notification sound is played on
my computer. No message box pops up so I do not know which application is
causing this. Is there a way to find out which application causing the
sound to be played? Sometimes it's minutes between each time the sound is
played, but sometime longer, so it's really hard to figure out what's
going on.

TIA for help.

Without knowing more about what else is running in the background: Go to
Start/Control Panel/Sound and Audio/Sounds.................

Thanks. However, I thought there might be some way to log such events.
Maybe an application? It would be helpful with something that could tell
me which application, and/or Windows service, that plays a given sound.
Surely it must be possible to log such things since the application has to
trigger the sound to play somehow?

The only thing I can do from the sound interface is to disable the sound
in question, namely the "System Notification" sound. Or am I missing
something? Come to think of it, what kind of events causes this sound to
play?

No application that I know of.

No application that I know of.

I finally found out it was the Yahoo Messenger plug-in for Miranda IM that
was set to warn when it encountered errors. The warning was this sound.
Thank you anyway.
