System not goin all the way through the boot process

I am getting an error after rebooting that windows did
not start up properly and would I like to start in safe
mode, last known good, or start up normall. If I start up
in safe mode, the system stops at mup.sys. and just
restarts the boot up sequence. I have learned that the
system is misreporting the processor speed as 100 MHZ. It
is a 700 MHZ processor. The board is an ASUS Mother
board. Will a reimage clear this up? Or is there another
way?

The BIOS may need to be adjusted to the correct settings for your CPU, or
you may need to change some jumper or DIP switch settings on your
motherboard. Refer to your motherboard documentation.
